Bacolod Food Trip

Whenever I return to my hometown, my diet is completely forgotten. I would usually resist the urge to eat a lot on the first day, second day, third… no. I would usually give up on the third day. It would be two servings of chicken inasal and two servings of rice at our place in Pontevedra. Plus desserts.

We went home to Bacolod last September 3. As usual, Quennie and I wanted to try Bacolod food again. Some from old familiar places and some new ones too. This time we ate at Bar21, Trattoria Uma and Calea.

The Pre-Marital Chronicles - Save the Date

Finally, we have a date for the wedding.

We don’t have a mushy picture to post for the announcement. So I thought the race number idea will work for now.  The colors used is also our motif for the wedding.  Unless, Quennie changes her mind again.

April 19, 2009. Save the date.

You can visit our Wedding Announcer website for updates and details about the wedding. Click here.

Dream Run #1

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Starting Point - KM42 at Pontevedra just at the foot of the bridge

In 2001, I told myself that I should run a 10km distance before I reach the age 40. What I had in mind was to run from Pontevedra, which is my fathers hometown, to Hinigaran, which is my mother’s hometown. It is about 10km apart. Since, I have made several 10Kms already, my goal have to change. I decided to run from Pontevedra to Hinigaran and back to Pontevedra. That will be about 20kms. A good long run.

Quennie and I went back to Bacolod last Wednesday to make the reservations on our wedding next year. It will also be a good time for me to do my dream run.

I woke up a bit late on Thursday morning so I anticipated a long and hot run. I made the necessary preparations even the night before. My running gear was ready when I woke up. Shirt, shorts, shoes, watch, sunglasses and a camera.

It will be a run starting from KM42 or the kilometer 0 in Pontevedra. It is just at the foot of the bridge. The turnaround point is at KM54 or the kilometer 0 in Hinigaran which is near the bridge also. So this will be like a bridge to bridge run or a hometown-to-hometown run. I thought it is just 20 kms but I realized that it will be a 24km run since the town are 12kms apart, not 10kms.

Any Given Sunday

My Running Path

My Running Path - click picture for larger view

Sundays are for long runs. I’m building up my mileage as I practice for a full marathon hopefully this year or early next year. I’m not sure where yet. Plenty of options but I would prefer it to be outside the country or at least outside Metro Manila.

This Sunday was for a 24km based on my training plan. It is time to change my route. Previously, I would run from the boarding house to Buendia to Ayala Triangle to McKinley Road and end at the 5th Ave before running back again. This time, I plan to run up to the Libingan ng mga Bayani for my 24km target.

It was also the Nike+ Human Race at the Fort. Part of my route would be on the same path as the race so I thought of dropping by and meet runners and bloggers along the way.
